I have a separate amp for sub-woofer and I've swapped out all the stock crappy speakers with cheap good ones. So, there is no #6 once you've figured out the cryptic menu options :-] Certainly not like the iPod or iPhone.Ħ] If you're making a selection of any kind (volume up / down etc.,) it has an audible beep that can't be shut off and gets very annoying.

It's a bit awkward to use if you prefer the Apple way of doing thingsĥ] Sub-menu-screens are somewhat PC like. Song 2, etc, Why not display the name of the song instead?Ĥb] iPod or iPhone controls for music are not like the iPod. but, the main screen only indicates Song 1. The control buttons are very small.Ĥ] iPod or iPhone hooked up. it gets oldģ] It's hard to get your fingers on the buttons and touch screen while driving if your rig is on even a slightly bumpy road. (and it audibly tells you "GPS signal lost") trust me. (Note: I think it would have been cool to flash the speeding icon at 10 MPH over the speed limit instead of solid red if you're just 1 MPH over limit)ġ] No phone pad after phone number is dialed (what if you need to dial an extension or God forbid, AT&T and you have to dial 1 if you want this and 4 if you want that?)Ģ] My GPS signal is lost every time I start the vehicle.

Overall I think Eclipse did good job and packaged this HU well for the price.
Sound quality is much better than stock radio (daa.) but I don't run amps. I am still trying to transfer my phonebook.Ĭonnecting my iphone via USB instantly brings up my playlist, song, artists just the way it should be. It doesn't display keypad during connection - somewhat disapointing but you can still do entry on your phone. I made a couple phone calls and there was no problem.

Graphics look good and slightly better than other 7" screens I looked at but not as good as on portable gps units.Įasily compatible with my iphone. but so far it's matching Garmin in accuracy. Gps doesn't tell you if your destination is on Rt or Lt. Touch screen buttons are large, well placed and " not sticky". TTS voice is not as pleasant as in Garmin but very close. Navigation is important for me and because is flash based it's very fast. It powers up insantly and audio plays after 1-2 sec.įully boots up before you bucle up. Were willing to power it up on the bench for me to play with it first. Luckly I was able to find one local shop that had one unit in stock and they Not many retailers sale AVN726e yet or they sell it as they come in rather quickly. There is nothing on the web that I could find to help me decide if I like it or not.
If you are like me and is trying to find some reviews before buying this unit you will be disapointed. Eclipse AVN 726e with steering wheel audio controls.
